Hi all

Sorry if this has been asked before but a family friend has only recently
bought a canon camera and asked me to help him set it up. I have never used
this before.

Unfortunately I dont have a lot of details other than he has bought a Canon
diigtal camera and would like to use the pictbridge facility to connect it
to a printer. He is also unsure of the printer model !

If we assume (!) that the printer is compatible, does the pictbridge
facility on the camera simply recognise the printer and switch on the
pictbridge facilities or is there always a menu setting that needs to be
turned on?

From what I have been able to get from the Canon website, which is not a
great deal, the supplied cable plugs into the camera and the USB in to the
printer, is that correct?

Any other information that maybe useful would be greatly appreciated.

This friend lives quite some distance from me and if possible I would like
to get this working in one journey.

Most (or all) Canon cameras can only be downloaded directly to a
Pictbridge-compliant printer, Canons or a very few others, otherwise a PC
with the Canon sotware installed is the only way that I know of.
