Maybe Rob needs to learn how to configure it? Maybe Rob is nothing but a
Nikon shill after all?

things to work?

According to them, it works *if* one spends the time to fine tune it.
Wasn't the whole argument for AF that it's "simple and easy"? Looks like the
clueless at Canon have once again made a mess of it...

No, the simple reality. The one Canon shills in the usenet refuse to admit exists.

You mean that one has to learn how to use a sophisticated tool in
order to get it to work well?

Golly!

No.

I remember Ludicrous Landscape's glowing review of the Leica M8, in
which the sycophant Reichmann completely missed the very serious
infra-red problems with that camera's sensor that almost brought Leica
Camera to its knees.

Truth is he didn't miss it, he just chose not to report it. He's sipped the
Leica Kool Aid and can't be trusted for hardware reviews. Kind of like his
infatuation with the Sony A900, despite it's amazingly high noise levels.
