I can't believe all this fuss over how to secure a neckstrap on a
camera. I modified mine by adding a very short strap on each side
connected to a pronged release (top left at this page:
http://www.strapworks.com/Plastic_Harware_s/18.htm ) so I can quickly
remove the neckstrap when I'm using the camera on a copy stand or a
tripod. It catches on things if you don't.
I never remove the short tabs, and just figured out how to feed the
strap so it wouldn't pull loose.
