Minolta Xt SD limit

Does anyone know if the Minolta Xt will address SD cards up to the 2GB
limit? I know it uses FAT16 and therefore can not address over 2GB, but
this does not assure me that it can address 2GB.

Thank you in advance.

Sorry, my Polish is none too good but the Minolta Xt link did not
mention anything about the SD card limit.

Unlikely, Minolta went out of business before 2 GB SD cards hit the market.

Not necessarily, since I have cameras that are able to handle
cards much larger than the ones that were available when the cameras
were introduced. You're not wrong as you might be if you had
guessed "No". But I think that the probability of the Xt being able
to use 2GB cards lies more between "Unlikely" and "Likely".

You can not infer one from the other, the Xt was designed before 1GB
cards "hit the market"; the ability to address cards over 2GB requires a
significant difference in design (FAT32) which was not incorporated,
however there might be some problems in the OS with addressing the full
range of FAT16 addresses, hence my question.

The probability lies outside your range.

I just want to avoid purchasing a 2GB card and finding it does not work.

Borrow one.
In my "close" circle of friends, I can count at least three who would
let me borrow a 2GB SD card.

I tried that, they either don't use SD, or they use the lowest
resolution and maximum compression to avoid purchasing a card when the
camera cam with a perfectly good 16MB card.

You have no way of knowing that, unless you already know the
answer, in which case you're not dealing with probabilities. Either
that or you didn't fully understand what I said. Since you seem to
be somewhat certain of the answer to your own question, which do you
think that it is, that the Xt is more than likely to be able to
address SD cards up to the 2GB limit or it is very unlikely?

Get better friends. (BIG grin!)
Can you try one in a store? ("I just want to make sure it'll work.")
