My S730 tends to move to whichever camera bag I'm using as a quick backup
and a good documentation camera. It can be pretty rough on the battery
life, but not really any worse than a lot of other P&Ss. Shutter lag
doesn't seem to be any worse than some others I've used as well.
I also carry it in my pocket a lot at work in case I need to document
damage. I'll go back and get another camera after I start the report, but
nothing beats having a photo of exactly what caught my eye first,
especially if it's something progressive like a water leak, and there's no
way I'm lugging the Alpha or Powershot S2 around the site all the time,
much less either of my film SLRs.
