Hi,
I was looking at advert for the Ricoh Caplio R3 camera and it seems it would
fill the bill for me.
On a limited budget of just over £200. I really want the extra long zoom
that this camera has and
the smallness to fit in jacket pocket.
What I am wondering is can I expect decent results from it. Is the lens any
good.
I would appreciate comments from anyone who has used one.
Many thanks,
Jim (UK)

Me too!!

I've found a few reviews - looks fine for amateurs. Some reviewers complain
about 'noise' - but that's no concern for me - I never print bigger than
10x8.

I'm really taken by the 7X optical zoom, the pocket size, and the
'anti-shake' technology. Excellent macro capacity is just a bonus.

Cost in Australia $549 AUD is the best I can find. (RRP $599 AUD).

Appreciate your comments. I'm beginning to have doubts because of the noise
problem. I have read similar reports in other reviews.

stay away from this one. i just got it and would like to sell it right
away. the noise is not acceptable even on ISO 100 setting. buy it
only if you can return it.
