Is it worth the extra few dollars to get the RC-1 for the Rebel/300D? Does the added functionality work? Most important to me would be the instant shutter release vs. the 2 second delay that is described for the RC-5. TIA
About me: longtime beginner amateur photographer living on the tundra in AK, recently fell into DSLR with the Rebel/300D, have stock lens and 75-300 IS tele for now. Subject interests range from architecture and infrastructure to wildlife, landscape and aurora borealis. My photography philosophy is that the technical aspects share equal importance with the subject, i.e. a quest for the elusive perfect picture. --S Tundra Wookie |

TIA I've got both of them, and I prefer the RC-1, which allows me to choose between a 2 second delay and instant release. By the way, I think that you've got the two model numbers confused. |

The sensor is on the front of the grip just below the shutter release so you basically have to be in front of the camera for it to work. Maybe a problem with wildlife stuff? I made a manual release with a cord that I could make an extension for. Check this page for info if needed - http://www.chantalcurrid.com/remoteControl.htm Jeff |
