what does it mean "stop down" in this Lens Compatibility chart http://www.nikonlinks.com/unklbil/bodylens.htm ? i'm a bit fed up about my (strong) nikkormat EL.. so for my street photography (www.gallingani.it) with 80~200 zoom do you suggest nikon F3 or nikon FA i like 100% view finder, but nikon FA should have more exposition skills. thanx in advance see you enrico zoldan |

I would guess that he is referring to 'exposure controls'. So, compare and contrast F3 & FA. |

Oh.... OK. Well, the only exposure control difference I can think of off the top of my head is that the FA doesn't have an exposure compensation dial. But there are some other differences that I think are more important. Like the fact that the FA has a plastic aperture coupling, so you can't mount the older NON-AI lenses. And overall the camera is more cheaply made. Also, my cat is not allowed to use the computer when I am not home! J |
