Problem transferring image with Nikon 995

Hi folks,
A friend of mine has a Nikon 995 and recently she has this error message
anytime she tries to transfer images from flash card to computer.
"There is no memory card in the connected camera or the card reader"

She has tried two different cards and has tried her flash card reader as
well as the Nikon Transfer and always the same error message.

Has anyone had a similar problem and/or can anyone offer suggestions as to
what the problem may be?
It's not the card and it's not the reader cuz the reader AND the Nikon
transfer program both give the same error.

Help please.
