It's out:

But seems it's just a faster version of the 4020B. ie. No DVD +R/RW
writing ability.

Mark, I'd go for the 4020B if the speed doesnt worry you, the price of
this drive should drop dramatically once the faster 4020B starts finding
its way around.

No, it doesn't. It onl;y confirms +R/RW READability, not
writability.

Directly from the features section:

- Multi-Format Writing DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R, CD-RW
- Reads DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, CD-RW, CD-ROM

It doesn't say it can write +R/RW there, either.

The GSA-4040B is the new model from Hitachi that writes to all
formats, including the "+" and the "ram" formats.
