If I am correct, I would probably wait until then. It's out: http://www.lgeus.com/Product/CD/GSA_4040b.asp But seems it's just a faster version of the 4020B. ie. No DVD +R/RW writing ability. Mark, I'd go for the 4020B if the speed doesnt worry you, the price of this drive should drop dramatically once the faster 4020B starts finding its way around. Wayne Wayne Barker |

Directly from the features section: - Multi-Format Writing DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R, CD-RW - Reads DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, CD-RW, CD-ROM It doesn't say it can write +R/RW there, either. ----------------------------------------------------- Neil Nadelman docsane@*nospam*channel1.com ----------------------------------------------------- I have no fears in life, for I have already survived Theta-G! |

The GSA-4040B is the new model from Hitachi that writes to all formats, including the "+" and the "ram" formats. Jerry Jones http://www.jonesgroup.net |
