I for one would never install games on my editing box or anything else that
is not necessary for project work. Keeping your pro system pro goes a long ways to keeping it stable and uncluttered with garbage. I have a seperate system for gaming/internet/e-mail. I do agree that Nvidia or the newer ATI cards are the best options for 3d games. My editing box is a Matrox G550 dual, and my game/general system is a geforce 3 GTS.
