Hi, How do I make the edges of a jpg image fade to white?

Make a new layer
Select>All
Select>Modify Border
Choose the size you want the white area to be
Select>Feather
Choose how much you want the white edge to bleed or fade into the image in
the middle
Next choose the airbrush or paintbrush tool and make it the size you want
Be sure the color for the airbrush or paintbrush tool is white
Paint over the selected area and you'll see it will be whiter towards the
edges and faded as you go inward
Select>Deselect
Merge or flatten your layers when done manipulating

Someone else may know how to do this with fewer steps...
