Viewing photos using SD card reader on Panasonic TV

I've just bought a Panasonic TV TX-32LXD85. It has an SD card slot on which
I have successfully viewed files directly written onto the card by my
(Pentax) camera. The card reader seems like a good feature & I would like to
use it to view pictures that have been edited on my PC. However, as it says
in the Panasonic manual "..images imported from a PC must be compatible with
    EXIF 2.0. 2.1 and 2.2."

Is there an easy way of getting edited files from the PC into a format that
can be read by the SD card reader on the TV.

    Thanks

    Ron

Just put some of your JPGs on the card & try it. Nothing will "break",
and your chances of success are pretty much 100%.

Yes - copy them there. jpeg files created on your computer using most
    editing software will qualify.

I don't know why you wanna move backward or doing the hard way. But in
general, you can pick your choice.

    1. Copy/Save to hard drive or CD/DVD to enjoy a better view. And you should
be able to display on LARGE TV screen as well.

    2. If you prefer to view on expensive small LCD screen, then I guess you
will have to follow few basic requirments.

    a. Copy to the specific FOLDER that your Panasonic is programmed to look
    for the photo

    b. Make sure the Filename is similar or whatever your Panasonic is
programmed to detect. Some may only require Folder and Externsion,
but some may require some Filename.

I am not 100% sure option #2 will work, but at least you may have up to
90-95% chance. And enjoy the photos on expensive LCD screen <bg>

    Hi Ron,

The TV has no way of knowing if your pictures are straight off the
camera or post-edited. Your camera obviously produces files that are
compatible with the TV so editing them on the PC and then displaying on
the TV will be okay UNLESS your editing software strips out the EXIF
information ... which is really unlikely.

Nice choice of TV, BTW, although my preference would be for the LZD
    model :)

I you have lost exif data and need it back, exiftool.exe will copy it
back from the original jpeg (excluding any added exif data showing edits
    of course).

    Hi Ron
I have just bought a panasonic tv and had the same problems. I have now solved the problem. You need to domnload irfanView which is and excellent piece of freeware only 1.3mb. Then use batch conversion to copy files off your PC to an SD card. This gives you a number of options one of which is to keep orig exif data i use the defalut which also saves other data. It is important to sort files such as by name ascending so they run in right sequence on TV. Hope this helps
