The letter was sent out by registered mail on 3.1.06 but it is rather
disappointed that there has been no response of any kind from Pentax so
far. I also discovered that inside the viewfinder of my "repaired" *ist
DS there was a small portion of an underneath optical element had been
broken when I got it back after the "repair" by Pentax Japan. Indeed, I
had added this in the letter to the CEO too, right before I sent it out
    by post.

I posted this case at the Dpreview Pentax SLR Forum and updated the
forum readers the latest progress. But very unfortunately the day
before I got banned suddenly without any reason given (not even to
mention if the reason is fair and reasonable or NOT), despite I have
sent two enquiry emails to Mr. Phil Askey for asking WHY. They just
ignore me totally. (Well, yes, I know that Phil Askey and his staff has
the sole rights to censor any speech at his *private* forum!)

Oh, too bad and I think I can see a very dark side of this world. So, I
just wish to ask what is "Consumer Rights" in this planet? Noted that
my Pentax *ist DS DSLR is indeed still under warranty but it has been
destroyed now and the first service request was made on 9.9.05 when I
just bought it less than two months and obvious AF problems were found.

BTW, I have also asked my local Pentax sole agent to replace another
*ist DS unit for me so as to "solve" the problem but so far I am still
    waiting for their reply.

I am now planning to start a new DSLR system, however, I still need a
Pentax DSLR body to use my old Pentax lenses, e.g. the 85/1.4 for
portraits and the 100/2.8 Macro for macro works. So, not until I can
build up a complete enough new DSLR system, I think I still have to run
    two systems in parallel.

Besides, Can anyone tell me also what else I can do now, especially for
the above unfair treatment by Pentax Japan and Phil Askey of Dpreview?
Any comment will be appreicated. (But I guess there is not much else to
do as the current situation faced by me is really bad, IMHO)

Unfair treatment? You're an annoying trouble-making fuckwit,
I'm not at all surprised you were banned. I'm sure Pentax
will be pleased to not have you as a customer.

I wonder why you guys still (need to) jump on me even I have gone to a
    different place. Why?

And to Mr. John Bean: Your extreme angry foul language used don't make
you look good anywhere. Also, are you a Pentax user, btw? Why got so
angry? Even if you're still using Pentax stuff. Could my bad experience
with Pentax DSLR system would cause your gear to have troubles or stop
working? What's your point of "annoying trouble making"?

Afterall, it simply boils down to a case that *I* have troubles with my
Pentax DSLR bodies and lenses, I know nothing about you and yours. Just
remember that my gear is not yours and that my using
requirements/applications are different from yours and vice versa.

    Hi Mr.RiceHigh,
    I really don't know why you've been banned - perhaps because I haven't
    read all of your postings.
Your letter to Pentax couldn't be the reason.
As for the problem with your DS you should have asked your dealer -
where you bought the camera - because he is the one who has to stand
for Pentax. If this doesn't work you can call him to the court. This
isn't a problem that should be discussed in the forums - btw.....
OT: This has been in the google.no (norway): You're norwegian?
Me - I am from germany, living near Hamburg -where Pentax Germany is
situated- I don't have any probs with Pentax!

Having much mor probs with Tamron for example....
they don't service the manual adaptall-lenses like the professional SP
2.8/35-105 any more! Not THAT old lens! Only 10 years...
With Pentax we are talking about the M42lenses which are often more
    than 30 years old.

    As for your dpreview-banning:
Perhaps you simply choose another mail-account and member-name and come
    back again?

Sorry, Frank, this is the Usenet Newsgroup where rules set by Phil
Askey at Dpreview won't apply. There is no point to quote the rules set
    by Phil Askey here!

Even at Dpreview forum, you have no rights of any kind to moderate
others' speech just because you are only one of all the others who is
under the moderation and censorship too.

You can of course chase me to here and continues to bark and bite me
but I just can't see the point you Dpreview guys still "follow" me in
this way. I have been disappeared at the old place and I think the
jumping should come to an end.

My final advice is be civilised and human. You last post shows it
differently. (well, if you observe Phil Askey's "golden rule" of forum,
it is also mentioned that "no personal attack and be civilised" but I
think you (and other folks as well) do the opposite)

My postings are simple. I share photos and opinions in the forum but
the key reason why many Pentaxian hates me is that I report all my
cases mentioned in my letter to the CEO since 2003 each by each
everytime I discovered a new problem.

They *always* think that I repeat the same but the case is not true. As
seen in my letter, the problems are with different camera bodies and
lenses and each body or lens could have a few different problems.

In addition, I have also carried out some (maybe extensive) tests on
the exposure accuracy of DSLR gear (mostly Pentax one plus some Canon
tests) and published my findings and test reports in my homepage. But
then some Pentaxians hate me to death after that just because I found
that Pentax DSLR is not so accurate and predictable and the Canon ones
are better. (So what, not a big deal afterall - but it seems that they
just think what I told would make the sky falling! Why? But that
    actually how they reacted.)

Regarding the Google, I think it is just all about the region detected
by your local Google server, I posted the message at google.com.hk btw.

My local dealer has not any problem in the latest case as they have
already tried their best and offered great help by sending the
problematic gear back to Japan for repair but Pentax Japan just made
    things worse.

For what you have suggested, some banned members of Dpreview did use
another name and email to re-register but I would find this rather
meaningless. If Phil Askey don't want me to appear or stay at *his*
Pentax DSLR Forum, I shall follow his intention. Moreover, I won't hide
myself for posting something in the future. If I called myself
RiceHigh, I shall continue to use this name to post.

Finally, I think I won't contribute to a place where the site owner has
done something bad and unfair to me. Indeed, very frankly speaking, I
did offer many helps to many of the Dpreview readers since 2003 for
many technical related questions or even about photo techniques. In
this sense, I am actually a voluntary who contribute to Phil Askey's
own *private* site, I shall surely stop my contribution under the
    current scenario.

    Best Regards,
    RiceHigh

  13. You really are dense, aren't you?
You broke the rules you agreed to when you joined the site, and you
copped the penalty you agreed to cop if you broke those rules when you
joined the site! It wasn't "bad or unfair" at all! It _is_ Phil's
forum, if you don't like it, you and your zero supporters can go and
start your own forum and whinge about Pentax as much as you like!
Excuse me?! That's the whole point! You were banned because people want
you to stop "contributing" as you call it. You seem to be the only
person to have so much trouble with the Pentax system, while everyone
else is out having fun taking excellent photos in spite of these
"flaws" you keep "discovering". The only photos I've seen from you are
    out of focus test charts.

Don't think you're the Pentax forum hero -- you're not, and don't think
anyone respects you -- they don't. You are the one in the wrong, not
Phil, and you're too stupid and/or self-obsessed to realise it.

Well, certainly that's the approach I tend to favour, myself.

Aksey's forums are very useful, no question about it - BUT, they tend to be
populated with the most incredibly anal retentive's imaginable! - humourless
and helpless bastards who couldn't survive in any other environment that
they protective nursery presided over by Uncle Phil.

It's interesting to see that 'Frank' apparently made a conscious decision to
ingratiate himself with the Pentax forum bigwigs, which meant distancing
    himself from you.

I have a theory that some people decide to appear subservient in order to
'fit in' - and then discover that they enjoy licking arses so much that
    they simply can't stop themselves.

For such people, DP Review is the equivalent of a Michelin restaurant! -
and, boy, do they pig out!

    George,

Phil Askey now is applying an iron hand at *his* "Pentax SLR forum".
Funny that day before a guy who signed up with a name "Too Hung Low"
and pretended myself using my name RH and argued with all those Pentax
Blind Brand Loyalists and pointed out how silly they were. But I bet he
just got banned within some minutes and all the related sub-threads
were deleted within a few hours.

But then, all those P-BBLs continues to bash me and anyone who reported
that he has found something wrong (which are not acceptable when
compared with other DSLRs made by brands like Canon and Nikon or even
older Pentax film SLRs). All these bash the (Pentax) "bashers" posts
and threads can ALL remain there.

Well, what an well filtered forum which full of m*r*ns. Good job, Phil
Askey! I must say.. (beside the word m*r*ns, I just can't imagine and
find any other better word(s) to describe! especially with my limited
English writing ability). If I was Phil Askey and needed to find a
better name for the forum, I would name it as "Pentax DSLR Praising
Forum" - The letter "D" and the word "Praising" must be added to truly
    reflect the truth!

Mr. John Bean is also the most funny guy here and there. He just be
very afraid and alerted for anyone there to point out his foul language
post here and I wondered if he is yet a Pentax user now, anyway. In
contrast, at least I still am, and still have many gear at this moment.

Best Regards and Cheers (don't be angry yourself with all those
    m*r*ns!),
