Adobe Updates

Discussion in 'Amateur Video Production' started by Gary Eickmeier, Apr 2, 2013.

  1. I accidentally discovered that there is a button for updating my Adobe
Production Premium suite and fixing problems. I was trying to burn a DVD in
Encore CS4, and the transcode failed with no explanation. So I googled up an
answer, and they had everyone going through everything but the right answer,
which was to just press the update button. I think it was in Help, About.
Anyway, it went through about 14 different updates, one of which fixed my
    burning problem.

Some programs now have the option of an auto update. So each time you
launch the program it will check for an update.
If you check the settings you might find this option in your Adobe program.

  3. Yes, maybe - and this was obviously necessary because of the age of the
program. I have been running into compatibility problems between my old
Windows XP era programs and our new Core i5 64 bit Windows 7 computer at
work. Some programs will not work now, and some need the update.

Another trick was to right click on the Icon for starting the program, then
click on Start in Administrator Mode. Even though I sign on as administrator
in all of my computers, this step was sometimes necessary for some features
to work. ONe example is Encore would not recognize any burner being present
in the computer all of a sudden, until I signed in as Administrator. Never
heard of such a thing, thought I would share it.
