advice for camera knowledge

Discussion in 'Professional Video Production' started by Chris Jemmett, Sep 8, 2007.

  1. I have been using the Canon XH A1 for a few months now. It is such a
step up from the old camera that I am often lost trying to learn about
all of the options and features that are on it. The manual assumes you
know what all of the buttons are for and can do.

This ng has been a good short cut to time saving advice before and
here I am, cap in hand again.

I hope to find instruction on the camera or a more universal
instruction book for the pro/pro-sumer family of cameras that would
allow me to learn the basics of comparable Sony, Panasonic etc cameras
    as well.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

After having used a Betacam for several years, I bought a Digital-8 Sony for
vacation and home use. What a shitload of buttons. It was as confusing as
Chinese Arithemetic. I can only suggest you settle in with the user manual and
a practice tape and go to town.

You have to learn how to make iron before you can bend it.
