    Hi,

I've been looking around for a telezoomlens for my new Maxxum/Dynax 5. I
will mostly use it for concertphotograpy, but also for photos in and around
the house etc. My idea is that i will need to go to 300 mm, because I'm not
always in front/second/third row during concerts.

OK, considering that, there are two options (financially, no, DON'T go into
    suggesting a 2.8, I just can't afford it :)):

    - Minolta 75-300 4.5-5.6 D
    - Sigma 70-300 4-5.6 DL macro super

On photodo.com the Sigma lens has a better performance rating than the
Minolta, especially on the higher ranges. It even has a sense of a
macro-option. On the other hand, the lens weighs more than the Minolta.

So, which one? OR: is a 12cm lens so uncomfortable that you would advice a
70-210 lens? And again, which one, if that would be the case?

    Thanks in advance,

    Marijke

The Minolta 75-300 is soft beyond 200mm, otherwise okay.
    Sigma, I don't know.

A used 70-210 f/4 is a crisp lens you can look for on the used market.

If you can spare the change, look at the 100-400 or the 80-200 f/2.8.

    Cheers,
    Alan.
