Boy, talk about a hot product!
I haven't even gotten the new Canon 5D Mark II yet and my models are
already clamoring to be photographed by it.

A cool Sunday morning .... what could be better than sitting outside
drinking a Diet Coke, eating a few pop tarts and enjoying the morning
    with a few friends?

A word about that last shot. It looks fake, but it's not.
My neighbor has a bunch of CDs hanging in a tree (don't ask me why).
I tried to line up the hummer with one of these disks to capture the
colors as they twirl in the breeze.

It's nice to see the specs on its replacement, but my original 5D is
still going strong as is the migration:

His wife was angry when I bought him the 40D. I didn't want to cause
trouble. He knows how to reach me if he needs to.

I feel bad taking your money (ok, not really). How about sending me a
Sandisk Extreme IV 16GB Flash card instead?
Or maybe the BG-E6 battery grip or an extra LP-E6 battery?
Oh yeah, a 500 f/4L IS would be nice, too.

One thing that hasn't been discussed is the computer requirements
needed to edit any of the HD video footage from the 5DII.
My computer is pretty spiffy compared to most, but it starts coughing
and sputtering when I try to load some RAW video footage from the
    5DII.

When that winning lottery ticket hits I'll be springing for a dual
quad-core Mac Pro with a couple of 30" Apple Cinema displays. Until
then, any video I take on the 5DII will probably be sent unedited
    straight to the TV.

For an inexpensive yet easy to use and reliable video editor, check out:

Look at the Multiquence editor. Even I've been able to do some basic video
    editing with it.

Hey, Helen, if you're giving away cameras, I'll take one. Just make sure it
    beeps a lot... :)

Dudley I saw that piece on you on CBC with Carol McNeil and I am
deeply impressed. You are a true inspiration to me and so many
    others. You need a camera?

I watch that program all the time but missed a few episodes over the
past couple of months. It was Bret who linked me on to Dudley's
amazing story. I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly George.
    He is one amazing man.

No, of course not. It hasn't been released yet.
I have downloaded some actual RAW video samples from Vincent Laforet's
site, however. They are 80MB .mov files that only last a few
seconds. Kinda tough to play on my monitor since it doesn't accept
    the HD 1920x1280 resolution.

What shots? I usually include it with my shots unless it is a pano.

Here's a few I took today while taking The Mighty Jewel for a walk.

My fav. is the IR shot. Haven't seen one in a long time. Jewels
    looks so happy.
That's my dream lens you used.

Thanks, George, I appreciate your support and encouragement.

Regarding getting my vision back, it's just a matter of time. In Britain,
preliminary trial treatments were given to 3 individuals using some type of
gene therapy. Of the three, two showed no change, but one young man showed
significant improvement. Not great odds, but it is a start.

    If nothing else, I'm patient...

Thanks, Helen, I appreciate your kind thoughts.

Peter Wall was the photo journalist CBC sent to do the interview. He was
great. He managed to make me look and sound a lot better than I normally
do. With a bit of luck, maybe I'll get to work with him again on another
    piece.
