Dudley I saw that piece on you on CBC with Carol McNeil and I am
deeply impressed. You are a true inspiration to me and so many
    others. You need a camera?

Thanks, Helen, I appreciate the offer. But, I'm not sure that would be a
good idea. Just think of all those Nikon D3s flying through the air after
disgruntled Nikonians see what a blind guy can do with a pro model Canon.

People could get hurt! I couldn't live with the guilt...

    But, I appreciate the thought.

The truth is I couldn't buy you a new camera but I could give you a
mint condition Canon PowerShot A series point and shoot. It use to be
my brother's but he moved on to a newer camera. It beeps and does all
    kinds of wonderful things.
Yes that's correct it was Peter Wall. I was thinking of Carol McNeil
who hosted the show. Peter Wall is indeed one of Canada's top
    journalists.
As for showing everyone what a blind guy can do with a camera, you go
    for it! You rock Dudley!!

Well, we're in luck. My wife would love for someome else to send me a 5DII.
Let me know when you have it, and I'll drive up and pick it up.

Now if that Canon 5D/2 is even a great deal better than even what you
anticipate would you consider switching to Canon?

Depends on lighting conditions and the type of camera I'm using.

If I'm using my Canon A720 or Fuji E510, I can only make out horizons late
in the evening, after the sun has gone down. When everything else is dark
but the horizon is a dim line of light, that's when I can make it out on the
    LCD display.

When using a DSLR, I sometimes can vaguely make out the horizon on dark,
    cloudy days as well.

I don't do a lot of landscapes. I'm more into animal and people pics.
Whenever possible, I like to get candid shots of relationships.

Why? The review on all of the Canon lenses standard and L appear to be
    comparable to Nikkor.

You do realize that the Sandisk cards are faster, right?
You have checked Rob Galbraith's tests, right?

Tell you what, send me a Lexar and I'll test them out and report back
    to ya.

Lexar is the only card I have ever had a problem with writing errors. Just
threw that piece of junk away.
When does the 5DII get there?

As usual, your conclusions seem to be in opposition to the facts.

I've got a better idea Rita. Why not buy Bret a copy of Photoshop
    CS4? If you don't I will!

I do? CS4 was just released this week. It'll be weeks before a
working Keygen becomes available. In the meantime, Rita, I agree with
    Helen.
You should show your support and have a new CS4 sent to the Annika
Estate. CS4 Extended Edition, of course!

    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshopextended/

I can upgrade for $349. I even take PayPal.

Better yet, Rita, if you have extra money to burn, treat yourself to one of
those new Canons and send me your old D3...

I'll make sure it doesn't get lonely. :)

    Don't count on it, until she's had the D3 for 18 months . . .

What the heck, it should still have a few clicks left after 18 months. I'm
    patient...
