almost ready to take the DSLR step...

  1. After using a *ist DS for awhile now I am convinced a DSLR will meet
pretty well all of my needs, which involves a lot of my kids sporting
events. Being a "prosumer", the *ist is very attractive with its price
now well below 1K, and I can still use most of my pentax lenses,(I
currently own 9 pentax SLR's) particularly my well liked old takumar
    screw-mount 50mm prime.

But I have been waiting for Pentax to come out with something faster in
the continous shooting mode and am getting impatient. So it looks like
the Canon 20D packs the most bang for my hard earned buck in that dept,
and from what I read in the NG's it sounds like a pretty solid performer.

My purchase timeframe is in the next 6 months, any other DSLR's in the
<2K range on the horizon that will shoot at least 4 fps?

  2. I love my *ist DL and old lens collection too :)
I guess you don't have much choice if you want the speed, but are you
sure you want to start a new lens collection?
