    Hello,

    What products can be recommended for converting Hi8 and S-Vhs tapes to
    digital via 1394 for video editing?

    I had bought an ADS Pyro A/VLink, it worked a short time with
    artifact-y output, then died.
    Anything out there with greater reliability and video quality?

    Many thanks, JT

  2. Many of us think the Canopus ADVC line meets your
    requirements. Reviews at places like www.videohelp.com
    appear to concur.

    Right, the Canopus is a sure thing, very well thought of. If
    you want another option you might check out some of the
    offers at http://snazzishop.com I haven't used the kind of
    device you are looking for, but some of their other products
    work quite well.

    Luck;
