Anybody own a Fujifilm FinePix F40fd digital camera?
What are your opinions of this camera? Which accessories do you recommend
with this camera - compact protective case, memory card, ac adapter, lens
cleaning cloth, lcd screen protector, extra lithium-ion battery, etc.

I have one of these - it's a great little camera. It's very good for
low-light and natural light photography, and quite easy to use. The
one thing I would say is that it doesn't have an entirely manual
setting, as far as I've been able to tell. When you set it to manual,
some things can be configured, but not all. I have noticed that
relative to my last camera (a powershot S50) it is far faster to
focus, and has an excellent battery life.

In terms of accessories, apart from a memory card (a large one,
ideally), I don't have anything else. It fits nicely into my pockets,
I generally manage to avoid getting crud on the lens (though a lens
cleaning cloth might not be a bad idea), and I take my charger with me
on holidays. Depending on how/where you're going to be using it, a
case and/or LCD protector could be useful, but I tend to find that if
it's not in my pocket, it's in one of the eight million little pockets
in my backpack, so a case is a bit redundant.

Thanks Mike for your comments. I'm planning on buying one soon. I noticed
    the
specifications for this camera state that it only supports a maximum of 2GB
    in terms of memory cards.
I was wondering if it's worth getting the high performance memory cards
    available or
are the ordinary was okay. For instance, scandisk offers extreme II , III
    and IV memory cards:

    Hi Marc,

I have a SanDisk Ultra II in mine, and I've not encountered any
issues. I don't suppose that proves anything - maybe it would be even
better with something meant to be faster? I didn't find the II was
much more than any other card. The link below seems to look into SD
    card performance:

(It's very long though - I might have a read later...)

    Cheers,
