I think that thread was for maximum resolutions. If you display an image on an
LCD (or any type of monitor) that does not match the aspect ratio, then it will
be stretched or compressed. That is what "does not match aspect ratio" means...
anyway, that thread was a mess!

One weird thing I found with this computer, is that it tries to run 1200 pixels
high when the monitor only has 1080! I don't get it, because I have the box
checked - "hide modes not used" or whatever...

Most monitors and video cards match the highest resolution, but for some weird
reason the smaller sizes are not correct for the aspect ratio. It drives me
crazy trying to find a compromise smaller size that is not too distorted to use.
You'd think they could divide equally on each side!

That Hemi Fart Powered Hemmoroid is the biggest fucking troll to ever show up
    here!

He doesn't actually own a camera, or know how to operate one if he did...

Ignore the cretin and he will go away...

  10. The odd thing is that I've known him in other groups, and he's not been a
at all trollish; he's just been a normal participant.

First time this has been appropriate:

"Blinky, I believe you are mistaken".

One of us has to be thinking of the wrong guy ...

  12. I doubt that there are many guys using "hemi-powered" as a nym. But while
I think the chances are awfully slim -- sure, it's possible.

    Me too.
I don't see him as a troll. I think he's as genuinely stupid and beligerent
as he intends us to believe. :)

  14. He did seem to be a little slow in this example. :)

Binky, I think it is important to live up to - or down to - one's rep,
don't you think? I have NEVER trolled nor flamed nor criticized via pre-
emptive first strikes, ONLY in response to what other's have said to me
directly or obliquely. Now, while I don't start flame wars, I DO finish
them. I see that Frank Ass replied to you. He never posts dick anywhere
but like cars, he's an expert on digital photography. You know the kind -
    legends in their own minds.

Frank Ass, you are what your name says you are - an asshole and a total
**** Head. You know zero.zero about everything, but especially cars and
digital cameras, and everybody knows you for what you are. So, it matters
not how you rant and rave, you're only making yourself the fool.

STFU and go away. EOT, as I do not try to reason with fools - like you.

    OK, sure. You too?
    Is that a promise?
It's perfectly clear that you do not try to reason. It has been fun fooling
with you. I'm going to plonk your new ID, and I'll try hard not to reply to
what I see in your replies to others.
Thanks! I'm fond of you too.

When you find and use the lens release button (it's on the lens, BTW),
you'll be able to work out where the stabilizer and AF/MF buttons are. Good
    luck!

  20. (abuse deleted)
But several people have - they've even posted links, manual
references, assorted pics.. I've just looked at one here in Australia
and guess what, it's the same. And no, I can't find any reference to
our cameras being any different in that regard.

You'll note I haven't needed to resort to name calling. So why not
respond calmly and simply post an image showing the switch? Here's
another two that *don't* show it:
    http://a.img-dpreview.com/reviews/CanonEOS450D/Images/frontcontrols.jpg
    http://a.img-dpreview.com/reviews/CanonEOS450D/Images/allroundview.jpg

There, I asked nicely, and provided refuting images. For the record,
the only buttons near the lens mount are: Flash, Lens Release, DOF
preview. (That second one is what you would need to use to find out
what is lens and what is camera.....) And there is NO IS on/off/
anything switch on the camera body. Anywhere. There is an ISO
switch, perhaps you could pretend that it got you confused...? Oh
    well, just trying to help.

Hemi, you could easily prove everyone here wrong by simply posting an
image of this remarkable switch that only *you* seem to have. It's
not difficult, it's not an unreasonable request in the circumstances,
you'ev already referred to another camera in your household, and of
course think of the victory you could then claim. And surely getting
to the truth is something worthwhile - after all, you have said
yourself "I have told the truth, nothing but the truth, so help me
    God"

The problem is Hemi, and the reason why you can't post that image, is
that you have looked at the camera and seen you were W R O N G.
Admitting that publically, to you, is obviously a fate worse than
    death.

Surely getting to the truth is something worthwhile - after all, you
have said yourself "I have told the truth, nothing but the truth, so
help me God". Umm, I think you are going to Hell..

Try admitting error - it's good for the tortured soul, and may help to
relieve the burden you are clearly carrying, that makes you respond
with such vitriol.. If you have some condition that causes this
behaviour, now might be a good time to discuss it and perhaps garner
    some sympathy...
