Anyone else tried the Elecard AVC/h264 Codec pack?

    I really like the image quality, for the Main profile. I also like that it
    can do High profile (I don't think x264 can.) It also is supposed to
    have some AMD dual core optimizations.

    I got the demo codec to encode with Super c, by adjusting the Merit;
    but I can't get it to show on the TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress codec list.

    Anyone got it working with TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress? x264 works
    great, but would still like to see what the Elecard can do. Their
    MPEG 2 software has always been very good.

    Luck;

    I really like the image quality, for the Main profile. I also like that it
    Did you get a media center that plays H264 yet? I did get the LinkTheater
    (as you recommended) and I'm generally happy with it, only FairUseWizard
    produces files that work well with it at about 75% compression with great
    viewing quality. But the device itself is flaky (especially the remote).

    But I'm looking for an h264 for the other room.

    Thanks,
    Shawn

    I just built a "HTPC" from parts I had left over from previous
    upgrades to my systems. You don't need much capability to
    just playback your files. I convert my MPEG2 files to AVC/
    H264 main profile by using x264 in TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress. I
    do the conversion on one of my faster systems. With a wired
    gigabit LAN, I can just "play" the media files off my NAS and
    don't need to use a streaming server at all. So, the BLT is now
    just another HD capable DVD/ Networked player, that can play
    a good number of formats ( but not as many as my HTPC.)
