AP review of Canon EF-S 60mm macro lens

  1. Here's one for RichA who I think is really a closet Canon Fan, but who likes
    playing the devil's advocate!
There is a blistering review of this lens in the current Amateur
Photographer, carried out by Geoffrey Crawley. He said at the end of his
4-page review that this "is an outstanding lens limited only by the
capability of the digital camera with which it is used". Resolution is
excellent and contrast is high with richness of tonal and hue
information -"they fill the eye". He found no curvilinear distortion whether
the lens is used close-to or for distant subjects and so for practical
purposes is distortion free from infinity to 1:1. making it suitable for the
    most critical applications.

BTW anyone know where Rich has gone?

I wager that even Canon couldn't screw up a macro
lens. Really, aside from the kit lens and some of the
    WAs, they do ok.
