It is not up to me to prove a negative. It's up to you to prove the
correctness of your affirmative statement, when challenged.

OK you have set the standard. The net time you ask me for proff, I will
give you a few thousand pages to read. I tell you right now that you ar
not important enough to me that I would bother to wade through all that
Apple propaganda, to find proff of your statement. Which has been lost
    due to your snipping method.

    It is?
IIRC you said that those who thought command lines were the only way to
go were wrong. (or something like that.) Amazing how you just switch
position, without so much as a blink, when you are proven wrong.

According to your reference Canon is #1 in popularity.
Again, does Apple manufacture cameras, or simply assemble and distribute
    them in iPhones?
    Your statement said "made."

Was it actually graphical though? All the light pen systems I saw were
text displays where the light pen could be used to select text, or
possibly select commands off an on-screen text menu.
The first CRT I encountered was a pretty dismal thing. It pretty much
    imitated a paper terminal.
And yet the most popular CAD system was for a long time was based in a
command line. I haven't used AUTOCAD in ages--have they finally dragged
it kicking and screaming into the '90s?

So that's why they sold WordPerfect.
    Well done.

That start up money went to my project to build a Nauga breeding farm,
the purpose of which was to alleviate the pending Naugahyde shortage.

Even today, the fastest CAD is mostly command-line driven.

But Autocad's command-line implimentation was always slow. For my
personal use, I use Visual CAD which is about 50% faster to use.

Legally and practically, there is a vast difference between Steve Jobs
and Apple. They are two different entities. You named the wrong one.

legally?? usenet is not a legal document.

i did say apple instead of jobs. it's not that hard to figure out what
i meant (which you did in fact do) and if that's the biggest issue you
can come up with, i'm doing just fine.

Huh! That logic has a small hole.

i told you where to find the proof.

not my problem if you refuse to look at it.

it's also common knowledge to anyone who follows the industry.

look again. the top *three* cameras at flickr are iphones, ahead of two
    canon slrs.

canon has the most number of models but that is something else entirely.
    completely irrelevant.

basically, and it used the retrace of the display to figure out where
    you were touching.

however, it was not a command line.

Yep. You want to change the meaning of words to affect your idiotic
statements. You deny the true meaning of what you say.
Sheesh, what an A-hole you are.

You are trying to play tricks with the subject. I was pointing out
that, particularly that time, Apple and Steve Jobs were two quite
different entities and that you had picked the wrong one.
I figured out exactly what you meant. That's why I told you you were
wrong. Apple did *not* go on to found another company called NeXT.

    not at all.
it was not an intentional pick. there was a lot of discussion about
apple and i said apple where i should have said steve jobs and didn't
    catch it.
you're making it into something *far* bigger than it is.

a simple 'you must have meant steve jobs, not apple' would have
    sufficed.

like i said, if that's the biggest mistake i made, i'm doing just fine.
