There are those who think Australia's unique wildlife is cute. In
reality it's anything but. Kookaburras are the oddest looking birds.
Born to hunt, with a beak strong enough to bend a spoon and a dive of
    unbelievable speed and accuracy.

Their staple diet is the most dangerous and deadly snakes on the planet.
"Laughing Jackass" is what they are called by the old bush workers.

This one is about to pick up what it thinks is a small snake. Note the
left talon. Almost gone from a previous encounter with one of the
    nasties it hunts for food.

  2. It probably lost its left talon because some fool thought it would be fun to
tease it with a rubber snake.

What would you call someone who can't tell left from right?

What would you call someone who has to turn their back on the scene to
be right? Any other time it's left.

We - as in my whole family whom I brought up to be conservationists -
and I feed a colony of Kookaburras (and other native animals)in our back
yard. We raise the young ones left to their own resources when dim
witted idiots fed their parents baited meat.

The rubber snake is good training for the juvenile birds. Especially
when old warriors like that one teach them how to do it. He knows it's
rubber. He plays with it and teaches the young birds what it is.

Some dim witted neighbour who set a baited trap for magpies probably
caused the damage to his talon... Not one of their training 'toys' or
the people who care for them.

    Get it right Rita.

The water goes in the proper direction here.

It goes backwards in your neck of the woods.

    Geeezzz
