Audio problems converting from DivX

Discussion in 'Amateur Video Production' started by Peter Gibbons, Dec 16, 2006.

  1. I'm trying to convert DivX video to a different format, to play on my
    home DVD system. But whenever I try to convert a DivX AVI file to an
    MPEG2, or SVCD, the video turns out fine, but I get high-pitched
    popping noises for audio. I've used WinAVI, TMPGEnc, and DVD Santa
    with the same results for all.

    Any suggestions as to what to try to fix the audio issue?

    I have good luck using:

    AviSynth > TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress

    file = "c:\your_video.avi"
    AVISource(file, audio = false)
    frate = Framerate()
    DirectShowSource(file, fps = frate)

    Edit and Save above script and save as your_video.avs
    Open your_video.avs with TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress

    Auto Gordian Knot uses AviSynth.

    Total Video Converter too.

    Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a
    few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving,
    regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
