  2. Best of luck with it.

I've joined (2nd to do so), but I fear that like many other similar
sites, it won't end up the mecca you want it to be. For me, there's
just too many forum sites, wiki sites, blogs, etc, etc to keep up with.
I've cut back to regularly visiting 3 forums and 5 newsgroups - the
rest I'll hunt out if & when I need info on whatever it is.

just for the record, aus.photo had over 2300 posters contributing over
21000 messages in 2005. Apparently I was the 5th highest poster...
truth that quantity doesn't equal quality!

  4. I agree, "If you build it, they will come" is something that does not hold
true for this kind of thing.

I know from my experience at potd.com.au, forums & galleries etc need
constant care and attention. ADPOTD is now 2 years old and while we have
many dedicated members participating, it is only now that it is really
starting to get a riggle on.... and that is after offering prizes and even
being published each month in a national photographic magazine!!

So I too wish you luck and hope that you are prepaired for the work that
WILL be required to make it a success. :)

Well he still ranks as #1 poster to this group according to Andrew's
    Netscan post :)
