I am scanning several hundred old color photo slides and negatives. I
find that with APE it takes me a long time to correct the color and
    brightness.

I found the following APE plug-in products which claim to do the job
    automatically and offer trial downloads.

    Digital ROC
    iCorrect
    ColorPilot
    Color Mechanic
    AliveColors
    ColorWasher

I have not found comparative reviews of these products. Since it would
take me a long time to try them all I would appreciate receiving
comments on which are the best or which ones have problems. Also, I am
interested to know if anyone had problem uninstalling any trial
    version.

    Thank you,

    Carlos

What scanner do you have? If you have the right
one you might want to consider Binuscan Photo-
perfect. It is a great color corrector. It is scanner
specific as you'll see, and they have other products
concerning color correction. But I am sincerely
impressed with it, the color correction is exacting
    to the original hard copy.

I just did a very quick look at your link.
Am I wrong or is it only for the Apple/Mac platform? and if so is there
    something for the PC platform.
    Yours,
    Tom
