AVCHD 2.0 expands to include 1080 50p and 60p

    I believe that it will, but I could be wrong.

    It might survive for sports, especially if the need for special
    glasses disappears.

  12. I was surprised to "see" that our local cable company did
    offer a single program in 3D, and it was a sports program
    and it did require glasses (and a special TV and cable box)
    to see it. "What was the sport covered?", you ask...? It
    was G O L F ! (about the least likely subject matter to
    benefit in any conceivable way from 3D effects! 8^).
    Since, I've noticed that the company is showing on free
    demand some animated material, but................ . . .
