Let's see it full size Bret. Head feathers look a hair over.
    Great shot in any case.

    Here's a full-size crop with no post-processing.

I too worried about blowing out the highlights of the white head in bright
sunshine. In fact, when I was driving back down the mountain this AM, I was
thinking, "Guess I'll be downloading Fred Miranda's Highlight Recovery Action
    tonight."

I have no idea what that last bit means. The crop shot is pretty good,
I took it into PS and USM'd it... there is a little more detail that can
be recovered. The yellow of the beak is great.

    Cheers,
    Alan

It means that if you blow out the highlights you're usually screwed. However,
with some Photoshop work you may be able to recover some of what has been lost.
Fred Miranda has a nice action that does this on his site www.fredmiranda.com.

Also, shooting in RAW mode helps get the most out of any pic.
