    Hi,

I have created a small clip and want to export it as an avi.

This avi will be added to an edit we will be doing with video captured
    by HDV cams.

I am not sure whether the edit will be HDV or just DV.

I just would like to know the best AVI codec I could uese for this file
    create.

    Thanks

export as uncompressed avi - otherwise if the edit is hdv and you've
    saved as sd.....

I have created a title in Media Edit Pro using the titler and some still
jpgs. I am offered a choice to create a file such as avi, mpg etc.

I had chosen avi but when I went to play it in Nero player, Winamp, VLC
Media Player etc, it would not play. The codec was IV50
    XP Pro 2pack plus..

    Media Editor Pro
Because the last attempt was jerky, I wanted to be sure we got something
that would keep resolution but work and not look too much different from
the final edit we will do with the HDV camera footage. I am not sure
what they will use in the edit suite we will be doing the final edit.
What I am doing now will be added to the top and bottom of the camera edit.
Yes we finally did that and it played fine. VLC info It said the codec
was I420, resolution 1024x576, frame rate 25 (PAL).
    That's okay.. Thanks anyway.
