Best Digital camera $250 - $350 opinions. TIA!

    I still have a Canon Powershot 2MP, but replaced it with a Panasonic Lumix
    L23 (I think...6 mp). Anyway, the Lumix's shutter won't open now, so while
    I may get it repaired as a backup, I'd like to get something more reliable.
    Any suggestions gratefully accepted
