I am looking for software which

    lets me create a slideshow
add some music to the slideshow
create a DVD of the slideshow which plays in a DVD player

I bought some software called MyDVD Lite from PC World, which was
suppose to do this - and to be fair it sort of does. But it is flakey.
I have had numerous problems with audio.

I like some of the features of the software - the idea of the software
fitting the show to the length of the music, but i would ideally like
to customise this to some extent, so if I want a picture to linger of
the screen longer I could do that, or maybe even change pictures to
    the beat.
Zooming in slightly on a picture would also be a nice feature.

I have a PC. The pictures are all JPGs. The music is usually MP3

    What can people recommend?

    Thought and comments appreciated

Its normal for the software to creat a slide show by adding the images
together in the form of a movie. You can pause a movie but you can not alter
    it once made.
Nero has a slidshow for a DVD player My Old Instant CD/DVD pre pinnacle Has
one that makes the slide show and also burns Full Res copys of the images
    for achiving.
The most controll over the creation, meaning the more the user does as oposed
to Auto. Comes from using a Video Editing Proggrame. Using Pinnacle Studio
9 Pro You can add the images in the order of your chose alter the viewing
duration for each individually add a Background sound track which is
displayed as a wave form so you could position the images to change at a
spot on the music track to fit the music. that leave you with two further
sound tracks for a voice over or Birds sound car horn ect for a individual
slide. You also have another video track to add overlays be Titles or even a
picture in picture. Pan across a slide or Zoom in and out can also be done
    and transitions added.
More automation can be found in Memories on TV. that will alter the duration
of the slide to fit the length of the music but will not allow synced
    changes.
If you have win XP then you have Movie Maker so you can play for free

I just bought and used Pinnacle Instant PhotoAlbum and it Rocks! I bought it
fro John Lewis of all places for £19.95.
It allows 1/ Perfect composition of slideshows, editing and synced to music
of your choice. 2/Numerous DVD menus and effects to add and harmonise with a
realtime preview and 3/ Burning to VCD, SVCD or DVD. It even runs a disk
labeling and jewel case inlay/booklet applet which runs seamlesly. You will
not be dissapointed. Go and Get it now!!!
