Bogen 3030 Tripod Head Assembly?

I recently purchased a used Bogen 3030 tripod head. There are three
handles, one each to control panning, vertical tilt and horizontal tilt.
Each is a different length. Since mine came to me disassembled and without
instructions, it isn't clear which length handle is supposed to be used for
which function. (Maybe it doesn't matter.)

If there is a 3030 user out there, I'd appreciate knowing the prescribed way
    to use the handles.

It doesn't matter, except that you don't want the longest one pointing toward
you (up/down pivot) or it will hit your chin.

Follow Bill Hilton's advice and otherwise set it up as you like. After
a while you might choose to 'improve' the setup or leave well enough alone.

    Cheers,

I've got a Manfrotto 141, which sounds about the same, & I've just set
mine up to suit my usage. My personal preference is to use the longest
handle for panning, the shortest for vertical tilt, & the other for
horizontal tilt. I suggest that you just swap them around until you're
    happy.
