I have a Bogen Monofrotto 468 ball head with 2" circular base attached. I
would like to attach a quick release plate instead of the circular base. Is
this possible and what model number QR plate do I need?.

    Thanks,

yes, is possible. the QR-adapters below screw onto the 2" base. They
    will fit any head.

    there are some choices:
    RC2 system: bogen 3299 / manfrotto 323
    RC4 system: bogen 3270 / manfrotto 354
hex plate system: bogen 3296 / manfrotto 225

I used to own the hex plate system, now I use the small plates of the
RC2 system, like that much better. (I have 468RC2... same head but
    fitted with RC2 system directly)

    ;-)

  3. http://www.manfrotto.com/ mentions a 200PL-14 quick-release camera
    plate for their 486RC2 / 3435QR version, and a 410PL quick-release
camera plate for their 468RC4 / No Bogen code. I don't know how the
circular base is attached to the stem on the ball, but if it is a
single screw it seems doable. I don't know which plate adapter is
    used.

You can even go one better and add an Arca-style QR clamp. Really Right
Stuff (and probably others) will happily sell you a clamp to fit this head.
