    Hi,

I have settled on the Nikon D70S over the D70, and am looking at where
to buy. Local is out, as the camera with a cheap-o 28-80mm lens is
    over $1000 - I have an N80 w/ a baseline 28-80mm AF Nikkor already (I
am going to get a nice 24-120mm VR lens from Nikon to go with it).
Anyway, BH offers the body only for $899, which is pretty reasonable.
Upon perusing Ebay, I came across Cameta Camera, AKA CametaAuctions.
They have a 99.8% positive feedback rating with over 90,000
transactions, and for $999 their USA D70S package includes:

    - 1GB flash card
    - USB card reader
    - Camera case for the D70S - looks pretty nice, actually
    - Spare battery
    - Nikon one year USA Warranty
    - A couple of other "chachkes"

If you want to see the auction (there are actually several), it is:

They seem legit, but I wanted to get some "street-level" feedback on
them as I am aware of the nefarious element in the online camera
business. Any feedback is really appreciated.

    Regards,

    Ben

Totally legit based on many years and thousands of dollars of experience.

E-Mail me if you're still unsure.

    Best,

No need to email - just looking for feedback on them. Like I said, it
seems like a standup operation, but you can't be too careful these
days. But feel free to email me your experiences with them. kombi45

I purchased a 2x teleconverter from them off ebay once. No problem with the
    transaction.

  5. I've purchase several grand worth of stuff from Cameta and they had it on my
porch the next day. I will only buy from B&H and Cameta. If you see
something you like that Cameta lists on eBay just give them a call instead
of bidding since it will them a few pennies. Good luck.

Thanks, Rita. That is actually what I was going to do, anyway, as I
want to get that warm and fuzzy from good old fashioned human contact
on this one! Anyway, everyone pretty much confirmed what I was
thinking - that these guys are on the level and I can get a smoking
    deal.

    Regards,

    Ben

  7. I've been a walk-in customer for years. This is an honest and reliable
    shop.

Cameta's legit, at least as far as I can tell. I purchased a film
scanner from them at a good price last year, and my wife's dealt with
them as well. They run their web-biz primarily through eBay, which
seems a bit odd, but it seems to work for 'em.

They maintain a good eBay feedback rating, and they do OK with
    resellerratings.com, as well.
