I have been using a Nikon N2000 for quite a while and would like to upgrade
to an auto focus system. I have a chance to start from scratch and would
like some advice on what is the most state of the art AF System.
I haven't kept myself up to speed on new technology and was wondering if any
of you have any feedback as far as what I should be looking at.
I do like to take macros, special effects, and portraits. But also want to
use it for vacations and just as a hobby to play with.

    Thanks
    Steve

If you're used to Nikon, and like the system, stay with it. Nikon and
Canon are top brands, it's more a matter of taste than of quality
choosing for one or the other.
Getting used to Canon after using Nikon may be a problem, because all
lens controls work in the opposite direction, like focusing, aperture
    and bayonet mount/dismount.

    Nice to start from scratch!
