    Hi all,
I'm not really in the market for either camera (cuz I can't afford either
camera) but it seems to me that the DSLR of choice on this NG is the Canon
10D. It seems to be a far cry from a msgboard of which I'm a part of (a car
msgboard, but also full of avid photographers) where the Nikon D1 or the
D100 seems to be the most favorale camera. I just wanted to know what you
guys generally think of both cameras with respect to each other and why it
    seems the 10D gets more thumbs-ups ...

I looked at the D100 compared to the Fuji S2 Pro, for me the S2 won hands
    down . . . .

    cheers, SG

I can endorse what others have said in appreciation of the Canon EOS 10D
    DSLR.
I bought a 10D over two months ago and have shot over 1000 pics since then.
I have been delighted with the results. I decided to opt for SIGMA lenses
    after reading
an excellent review in Digital Photographer of their 15-30mm wide angle
zoom (at about £425 compared with the Canon equivalent at three times the
    price).
SIGMA have an EX range specifically designed for DSLR's.

One very useful feature of the 10D is that it will set up to ISO 800 speed
    with no
discernable noise and can be set up to ISO 3200.

I ended up getting three Sigma lenses
    15-30mm F3.5 EX zoom
    28-70mm F2.8 EX zoom
70-300mm F4-F5.6 zoom (not EX) but with macro @200-300mm

They are marketing the EX range at digital photographers, but in fact I
belive that's a marketing ploy. You will note that they seem to be the same
EX range that they push as their 'pro' series.

They may have re-chipped them of course, but the 24-70 EX 2.8 I use with my
D30 seems to be just a plain EX.

What is your opinion of the 15-30?

  5. Not being the OP, I assume that once you get used to one layout,
    everything else is bizarre.

IMO, yes ! The S2 is the best choice.
