Canon 1Ds, 1v and 10D under cold weather?

    Hi,

I am planning on taking my Canon 1Ds, 1v and 10D cameras into 10F to
15F weather. Since the temperature has definitely gone below the ³working
temperature² range as indicated by the manual, I am concerned about the
possibility of damaging both mechanic and electronic camera components.
Canon support insists that such damages are most likely to occur under cold
temperature. Sigh, I wish that I still had my Nikon FM2Š

I wonder if there are any Canon shooters who have brought any of these
cameras into sub zero temperature and can share their equipment experiences
with me. Specifically, I would like to know:

    1) What¹s the likelihood of equipment damage?

    2) Is it sufficient that I just keep the battery packs warm?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Best Regards,
