Does anyone know of any camera shop in Sydney Currently selling on stock
one of the Canon lenses 400 5.6 USM or the 100-400 mm Zoom.

Hoping to pick one up asap but Canon Suppliers in my region do not have
any and Canon themselves currently appear to be short. Sort of slowly
transitioning from Nikon to Canon but the Nikon is now developing
errors so it has forced my hand quicker than I anticipated.

Hopefully I wont have to spend all day at work (At taxpayers expense) ;-)

    ringing around

Ideally I want the 400mm Prime but due to Murphys factor ( I have no
time to waste etc) I will force myself to buy the zoom.

Fletchers (Pitt st) should have the 100-400 in stock, and might even
    have the 400mm.

G&V Imaging (400 George) had the 100-400 when I was there a week or two
ago if you can lower yourself to actually deal with them.

I'm fairly sure Paxtons (George St, near Wynyard) normally have the 100-400
    in stock too.

Before you decide to buy it may be worth reading
    this..http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/lenses/forgotten-400.shtml
I bought the 400mmm 5.6L and although it can be a bit slow at times due to
    the f5.6 and won't AF on a 10D with the 1.4x extender at f8, I'm very
    pleased with it.
some photos at http://www.knighttrain.freeserve.co.uk/birds.htm, note some
were taken through glass so not always the lens's fault !
