Canon 420EX Speedlite Question

    Howdy,

    Can the 420EX act as Master, for example, if I had a 420EX attached to
    my camera and a 420EX elsewhere as a slave, would that work? I
    haven't been able to find a definative answer. Thanks for your help.

    no.. the 420 can only be a slave
    550 can be a master, or a wireless transmitter... but not a 420

    Speaking from experience - Nope.
    Only a ST-E2 or 550EX will work as a master unit.

    Don't think so. You will will need either a EX550, the new EX580, the
    macro flash unit that I can ot remember the model number of or a ST-E2
    to act as a master.
