it has nothing to do with sensor overheating and everything to do with
tariffs on 'video cameras.' canon apparently doesn't mind paying the
tax or managed to circumvent it somehow.

  7. This post is off-topic for this newsgroup,,
which is concerned with film cameras that use 35mm film, not digital
cameras that look like 35mm SLRs (DSLRs).

Since this post concerns such cameras, the appropriate place for it is Please post there in the future.

ISO 25,600 with 21mp will be interesting.
98% VF - better than D700 - Nikon cheapskated on that.

    Looks pretty good.

I am downloading the landscape sample photo, taking forever to
download. I really wish they had used a good prime instead of a zoom
lens for this shot. It looks like the lens has some problems, it look
really bad on the far left side, on the far right not nearly as bad.

I would love to see what this camera does with a good 50mm lens at f/8

Thank you for posting this in Per the charter,
this group is concerned with all aspects of 35mm photography, regardless
of whether the images are captured on film sensors or digital sensors.

Please continue to post information about all 35mm cameras in this group.

I don't care if people post whatever they want, but 35mm is the width
of the film used in film SLRs and others, and how does that relate to
    digital cameras?
    mrbobjames, Sep 17, 2008
  16. Answer: it doesn't.

Regardless of what the charter says (more importantly, what it *doesn't*
say), the camera under discussion here--a DSLR which happens to *look*
    like a 35mm SLR--is not a 35mm camera.

DSLRs are sui generis. Get used to it.

Is this whole article about battery management describing something
new for Canon? I mean, come on, my D200 has had this same thing for a
few years now. I would have thought Canan would have this long before
now. Although the multiple battery page, which I don't have, is nice.
