When I've got my Canon EOS 300D/Digital Rebel connected to my PC, I find
that inactivity timeout period is annoying.
I'd like to have the camera connected to my PC but be able to trigger the
release using the remote capture software utility.
If I get an AC adaptor for the camera, can it be set to always on?

Also, what's the name of the Canon wired cable shuttle release system for
the camera that allows you to take pictures remotely (but not very far
    away)?
