My Eos 5 (A2e) Command Dial has been gradually going, going, and now gone.
Before, I could change "Command Modes" but now it has broken fully and I
wish to repair it (taking out the broken plastic tab) as I am unable to
change Modes unless I press down very hard on the dial as I turn it. Gee,
have you not ever heard of this one??

A while back, I remember looking at a webpage with specific instructions
written by an individual of how to make this apparently simple repair. I
remember reading that it wasn't difficult, just a matter of opening the
camera up, labelling a few things before disconnecting them, removing the
    broken tab and then reassembling.

The camera is not under any warranties anymore. I feel I can do this repair
myself, OR should I really take it to a technician? Does anyone know that
webpage address, or one very similar to it?

    ALSO:

    Another camera:
Can I use the same foam material for the "mirror flip up bumper" as I would
    with the film door gasket?

    Any comments would help.
    Thanks,
    MJL

The mirror bumper foam is usually thicker than gasket foam.
