I am looking to purchase a new digital camera.
My google browsing has led me to compare the above two cameras.

Can anyone out there help me with some of their own experiences as to
why they would, or would not, purchase one if the above cameras ?

I f you have any other suggestions for a good digital camera, I woud
be very interested to read your opinions.

I would really appreciate your assistance - thanks !

My main requirements for the camera are are:
    Minimum - 5 megapixels.
Must have a good quality lens
Must take crisp and good quality shots in Auto mode.
Must have minimun blurring around the edges of the photo.
    Must have a self timer.
Must be able to be mounted on a tripod.
    Must have reasonable battery life.
Anti-camera shake feature would be nice but not essential.

    Thanks you again in advance

    Try this site:

When I was looking for a camera (18 months ago) my priorities were similar
    to yours.

I finished up buying what is commonly called a Prosumer camera viz. a Sony

I guess buying a camera is like buying a car. You weigh up all the features
then decide what is best value for money.

Price is a large part of the final purchase, not just "What can I afford?"
but rather what do I consider the best "bang for bucks".

Only you can really decide that, but if you're not wanting a camera that
fits in your shirt pocket that eliminates at least some of the models out

Once you get an idea about what each model does and you have narrowed it
down to a few makes then use the above mentioned site to make a side by side

    Good luck!
