I have 4 or 5 images that appear to have corrupted when I transferred
them from the microdrive to the computer. Unfortunately, I've now
reformatted the microdrive so I can't transfer them again. The originals
had shown up on the camera when looking at them - I've tried copying
pictures back to a memory card but they now don't view on the camera.

I've tried opening the files with graphic converter, image browser,
iview media pro and file viewer utility.

The photos are slightly bigger than the others that I took at the same
time, which makes me wonder if some extra info was appended to the file?

Running Mac OS X 10.3 (panther).

Perhaps you can open the files with a binary file editor and compare
them to a known good CRW file? If you are *very* lucky maybe the problem
can be spotted and repaired manually (and quickly).

You might want to copy the corrupt files to a 'crash test dummy' file
and open that one with the editor just in case.
