Canon repair shop in midlands? or parts?

I have an AE-1 that has served me well for the last 20+ years. Recently it
has started to show (understandable) signs of age - the battery door has
    cracked and broken for one.

Anyone know of a good quality / good value Canon repairer in the Midlands?

Or is there any way to get hold of a service manual and spare parts for this
camera and attempt a DIY service / repair?

The typical local camera shop wants £70-£90 for a clean lube and adjust.

    Thanks for any info.

Hmm. That's the same price range I paid a year ago for 'service' & shutter
m'chip replacement for Yashica FR1 of similar vintage (in Midlands too, at
    the time)
