I replaced my old Nikon with this Canon, and it is a much better camera.
But I can't find a way to set the flash to fill when the camera is in
Auto mode. At a party Sunday during the daytime, I wanted to snap folks
who were in front of windows, but the very bright outside light turned
the flash off, so those photos were worthless.

Anybody know how to set the flash to fill mode?

This does not work in Auto mode. Switch to P setting. this is also
automatic but you can use fill flash in this setting

Thanks. Other than the lack of fill-flash, I've been really happy with
the setting chosen by this Canon in Auto mode. Time to fiddle with P mode.
